My Favourite Music Band: MODEL

Resim
You definitely heard one of these band's songs. In them, everyone finds something about their own. I think this entry was too emotional but it must be. They don't have many cheerful songs, just a few.  I love their songs because lyric and melody fully harmonious.     The band was found in 2005 by four people who were university friends. In 2007, it was named MODEL with the addition of vocalist Fatma Turgut. All the songs was composed by Can Temiz who was band's  bassist. In final form, the drummer was Kerem Sedef and the guitarist was Okan Işık.         Th eir music albums are : "Perili Sirk" (2009), "Diğer Masallar" (2011), "Levla'nın Hikayesi" (2013). Although they didn't have a lot of albums, they composed impressive songs and people loved them. Also they played single songs with famous musicians like Emre Aydın, Ozan Doğulu. MODEL's first hit song was "Pembe Mezarlık". We can say that they became ...

About My Musical Instrument

Resim
I think there isn't anybody who never seen the violin. However, I wanted to introduce you to my eight-year friend. Violin first made in the early 16th Century in Italy by Andrea Amati. So it's newer than other instruments like piano. We can examine this picture to learn the structure of violin.                                                                It made by wood. Just "Fine Tuners" may steel but it shouldn't use for better sound. There are four strings that connect to tailpiece and tuning pegs. When we look at the violin, F holes take attention. They are for good acoustic. I think this is the most important characteristic of the family of "Strings".       "Bridge" is for sound transmission from strings to body. Bridge's quality is very important for sound quality. Also there i...

My Music Adventure

Resim
After giving information about interesting musical instruments, I want to write something about myself.      When I started to play violin, I was seven. It was time to play a musical instrument, because my dad was music teacher and there was always music sound in our house. My dad asked which instrument I like and I said “violin”. I think it is the most important decision in my life.        Violin was different for me because everybody couldn't play it. For example, everybody who touch its strings can play guitar. Violin requires working hard. Also, you shouldn’t never play the violin if you are impatient. You may need to repeat same things many time. Especially for learning to use bow.      I've been playing the violin for 8 years. I started with “Twinkle Twinkle Little Star” 😅 Today I can play Violin Concertos from A. Vivaldi, F. Seitz and more…       I made many friends thanks to t...

An Odd Musical Instrument | The Glass Harmonica

Resim
This time, I'm going to write about a musical instrument that make confusing sounds. I have to use this adjective because this sounds aren't in human ear sound frequency range and it causes our brains to  go mad. If you listen glass harmonica from your computer or mobilephone, y ou will not be affected. Because it isn't the same as listening live.     Benjamin Franklin invented this musical instrument in 1761.     Glass harmonica consists of around 40 glass bowls. This bowls are rotating by a foot pedal. Instrumentalist play this instrument by their wet hands. This instrument doesn't make loud sounds that's why it couldn't be famous :( They must play with a microphone in concert halls.    There are around 200 pieces for Glass Harmonica. For instance, Tchaikovsky composed "Dance of The Sugar Plum Fairy from The Nutcracker" for Glass Harmonica.     Hope you will not go mad after watc...

The Most Dangerous Musical Instrument | Singing Tesla Coil

Resim
In my previous blog, I wrote about a fantastic musical instrument. It didn't need touching to play. Here is more fantastic instrument: Singing Tesla Coil (or Zeusaphone). Zeusaphone doesn't need an instrumentalist. But, of course it's need to a programmer and usually work with electrical signals that computer's send. People sometimes play it live.    As you know, tesla coils work with blue spark. This instrument modulates the spark sounds (signals that send from computer or people provide it) and creates interesting sounds. If there are two zeusaphones, it's possible to playing chords like guitar. When it make sounds, it also do light show. I think it's the most impressive side. Although it looks like crazy, may be dangerous to stay around directly where it is working. Because if the spark come to you, you may die. The people who play it live are wearing special outfits.     You will remind when you heard its sound. Let's listen a famous me...

An Unique Musical Instrument | Theremin

Resim
When I surfing on the internet, I asked myself why haven't opened a blog that introduces interesting musical instruments. I decided to create series about them. I hope you realize that you've been informed after reading.  This is the first instrument in the series : Theremin.      At first, I want to write about this instrument's history. Professor Leon Theremin patented it in 1928. As you can imagine, it's named after the inventor. The theremin also gave different ideas to musicians. E.g. Synthesizer (it is similar to keyboard) was invented thanks to theremin by Robert Moog who was developed Theremin.     You can control by two metal antennas that sense hands position and don't need to touch anywhere. It works completely contactless. While you are playing, your right hand changes the sound frequency, and other adjust volume. These adjustments are provided by electrical waves among hands and antennas. You can remind this instrument'...
